One of the main challenges in Hass avocado cultivation during the flowering stage is low fruit set percentage, especially when cold temperatures occur. This type of environmental stress directly affects fertilization, initial retention, and consequently, the final yield of the crop.
A trial was conducted on 1 hectare of Hass avocado in Michoacan, Mexico, comparing an Innovak treatment against a control, measuring fruit set at three 30-day intervals. Results were consistent across all evaluations: treated trees showed visually greater fruit retention. The biostimulation program supports key physiological processes during flowering, helping the plant maintain fruit set even under limiting environmental conditions.
Evidence from Michoacan demonstrates that biostimulation is an effective tool to improve fruit set and retention in Hass avocado, even under cold temperature stress. Applying these strategies during flowering can make the difference between losing productive potential or securing a more stable and profitable harvest.
