Background: adverse climatic conditions generate a stress response in crops, leading to significant productivity losses. Among key determinants is vapor pressure deficit (VPD), which directly influences stomatal opening and closing, limiting key physiological functions. This demonstration was carried out in a blueberry crop in the formation stage in the Piura region of Peru, characterized by VPD levels exceeding 2 kPa.

Objective: to improve metabolic activity in the crop, promoting increased photosynthetic activity, leaf cover, and general leaf condition during the formation phenological stage. Response variables evaluated: photosynthetic activity (SPAD), crop leaf area, and leaf condition (dry, semi-dry, healthy).

Results: data obtained indicated that all treatments outperformed the absolute control in photosynthetic efficiency. However, the Haddak Plus treatment stood out by presenting a significant increase in photosynthetic activity from the second day after application, maintaining a sustained effect throughout the evaluation. Haddak Plus conserved 90% of healthy leaves and showed no dry leaves, representing the best response among all treatments.

Conclusions: Haddak Plus is an effective tool for mitigating stress effects in crops. Its application significantly increased photosynthetic activity in a sustained manner compared to other treatments, with fewer product applications. Haddak Plus also favors better leaf condition and better development, and helps mitigate damage from reactive oxygen species (ROS), representing a viable alternative to preserve crop productivity under increasingly adverse climatic conditions.
